It’s hard to resist the sweet little face of a puppy. They’re so adorable that many dog lovers cry tears of joy just looking at them. An elderly couple had the same reaction when the cutest little canine made an appearance at their Christmas celebration.

Veterinary assistant and TikTok user “steacyy_” recently posted a video of herself surprising her grandparents with a new puppy. Her grandparents had the sweetest reactions, and they seemed ready and eager to welcome the new furry friend into their lives.

The Cutest Christmas Surprise

Steacyy_ knew her grandparents would love to have a dog around, so she gathered all the necessary supplies and chose the perfect 8-week-old puppy. Then, in her TikTok video, she showed the moment her beloved family members received their gift.

First, her grandma opened a box that was full of dog supplies. The grandmother turned toward the camera with a mix of confusion and excitement across her face. Then, a few other family members entered the house holding an adorable puppy resting inside a Santa hat. They placed the puppy in the grandma’s arms, and the pup licked his new mom’s nose.

The grandma’s eyes welled up with tears of joy, and she carried the puppy over to the grandpa so they could both admire the sweet canine’s adorable face. It looks like the puppy will be very loved in his new home.

In response to a comment, Steacyy_ explained that both her grandparents are healthy and mobile, so she knows they’ll be capable of caring for the dog on their own. If anything happens to them, they have lots of family members who could step up to care for the dog.

Be Careful with Christmas Puppies

Getting a puppy is a heartwarming experience, but it’s good to remember that dogs shouldn’t be surprise gifts. If you want to give someone a dog for Christmas, make sure everyone in the family knows about it and is ready to take care of a pet. Doing so helps eliminate the number of Christmas puppies that end up in shelters.

Also, be cautious about where you buy a Christmas puppy. If a breeder hands you a puppy right away with minimal questions asked, it’s likely not a humane business. So, if you turn to a breeder instead of a rescue or shelter, keep an eye out for signs that a puppy is from a puppy mill.

Luckily, Steacyy_ works in the vet industry, so she probably considered all these things before getting a puppy for her grandparents. This adorable puppy seems like he will have a wonderful home with his new humans!
