What The Raw Voluntarily Recalls Single Dried Sardine Products

“What The Raw?” voluntarily recalls 184 containers of their Single Dried Sardines products on July 14, 2023 due to possible Clostridium Botulinum contamination.

At the time of writing, no official statement has been made by either the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and “What The Raw?”. The voluntary recall was revealed through an Enforcement Report.

According to the report, the uneviscerated whole dried sardines are potentially contaminated with Clostridium Botulinum, a bacteria that causes a rare condition called Botulism.

Botulism causes paralysis in dogs and can be fatal, if not detected and treated immediately.

The Single Dried Sardines products are sold individually and there are no labeling on them. Here are more details on the recalled products:

While no official statements have been released, we highly recommend that you immediately dispose any affected products with the information stated above.

If your pooch ate any of these products, please monitor them and contact the vet immediately if you notice any adverse symptoms.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of dogs getting sick after ingesting the products in question. Furthermore, no other “What The Raw?” products are impacted by this recall.
